Colour Run

The Newlands Colour Run was another huge success in 2025. We managed to beat last years fundraising total with a final total of an impressive $37,405! Huge thank you to everyone who contributed and helped with this phenomenal effort. This will be a significant contribution to the renovation of the extra 5/6 classrooms for next year.

The 3/4 kids started off the afternoon strong with some seriously fast laps and breaking in the course and the volunteers who were squirting the many colour bottles. The 1/2s went next and ran their hearts out. We then got a visit from Monty the Monster as the preps found their buddies from 5/6 and got ready to run just as the rain showed up. It wasn't enough to dampen spirits and there was now a rainbow path to run on. The 5/6s then had the course to themselves and got very colourful indeed.

We then geared up for Slime Time!! 8 lucky kids got to slime 4 even luckier teachers. Lisa went first and came very prepared with shower cap, goggles and trench coat, but the slime really does get in. Up next was Mel who was already pink and yellow from several laps of the course and laughed her way through the green goop. Christine was a rainbow and then mostly green, her sunnies caught quite a lot of slime too. And Graeme was lucky last and after his sliming Luke saw the opportunity to use up the remaining trough of slime and with the help of Morag poured an avalanche of slime over our Assistant Principals head.

Several reports from the preps have deemed it the best day of school ever. Its great to see some students still wearing their headbands.

Prize ordering closes Friday night 30th May, once finalised prizes will be sent to school then sorted for distribution. Recipients will be notified of times and location for collecting prizes.

Thanks to all our volunteers on the day and to the teachers for joining in and managing very excited students all the way until 3pm!
