Leadership Report

What a fantastic and busy week we’ve had!
I'd like to start by saying a big thank you to the students who slimed our teachers — they all deserved it!
This week was Assessment Week, and students and teachers have been working incredibly hard to complete assessments in Literacy and Maths.
We’re so proud of the amazing learning that is taking place. As teachers, it’s truly rewarding to witness our students' growth, not just in their academic progress but also in their confidence and development as learners.
Well done to all our students for giving their best, and thank you to our dedicated teaching team for their ongoing support and encouragement.
Cultural Morning Coffee
This Wednesday, our famous Morning Coffee had a delightful twist an Argentinian and Chilean flavour!
We shared mate, indulged in alfajores, pasta frolla, hallullas and pebre (a Chilean spicy salsa) lovingly prepared by our amazing parents.
Mate is a pre-Hispanic tradition that has been carried out to nowadays in Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay, south of Chile, south of Brazil and parts of Bolivia. Yerba mate plant is originally from the area where now Paraguay is located, the Guarani People, the indigenous from that part of the continent used “yerba mate” in ceremonies and also consumed as a drink.
A big thank you to Veni and Alberto for cooking and treating us to such incredible food. Your efforts brought warmth, flavour, and culture to our morning.
We’re already looking forward to the next Morning Coffee, which will celebrate Colombian cuisine on Monday, 23rd June. Everyone is welcome. Come hungry!
SRC Student Voice Surveys
Last week, our Year 6 Student Leaders worked hard to distribute the SRC surveys to each class; a big thank you to them for their commitment and leadership! These surveys captured student ideas for their “perfect school” (with a touch of realism) and gathered valuable feedback from Years 1–6.
Students in Years 1–4 completed a single-sided survey, while Years 5/6 had a double-sided version to reflect their additional thoughts. Thank you to all teachers who supported students in completing the surveys on time. We are looking forward to seeing our amazing SRC and student ideas come to life in our school.
We extend a big thank you to Nerida for her ongoing support and dedication to strengthening our leadership program.
Tiered Mathematics Instruction
This week, our teachers came together to reflect on the past three weeks of Tiered Mathematics Instruction, and the results are in. The data shows a significant boost in student learning outcomes, with students not only achieving more but also reporting that they felt supported and that the learning was better matched to their individual needs.
It’s an exciting affirmation that our approach is making a real difference.
As we celebrate this success, we're also identifying ways to strengthen and refine the program even further ahead of its next implementation in Term 3. Stay tuned for upcoming information regarding the Term 3 Tiered Instructional program.
