Aviation Info Night at Holmes Institute – 20 June at 6pm

Holmes Institute Aviation is pleased to invite students to their campus in Melbourne on Friday 20 June for an Aviation Information Night. This event is designed for students who are considering a future in aviation – whether as a pilot, aviation manger, or in emerging fields like drone operations – and are interested in exploring pathways into the aviation industry. This Aviation Info Night will include:

  • Information Session: Discover the range of aviation programs and career paths available 
  • Campus Tour: Explore the state-of-the-art facilities and resources 
  • Flight Simulator Lab Session: Experience a hands-on introduction to their flight simulation equipment

AIM Open Day – Saturday 28 June, 9:30am to 4pm

Australian Institute of Music (AIM) Open Day is when you can experience everything AIM has to offer to future artists! Check out AIM’s campus, get course advice, enjoy live performances and interactive workshops, meet AIM academics and students, and get involved in activities that will give you a taste of student life at AIM. Experience La Trobe these July holidays

Whether students are set on a study path or still exploring, Experience La Trobe on Tuesday 8 July is their chance to discover uni life. Prospective students can chat with academics and current students, join hands-on workshops, tour the campus and hear from special guest Sam Bramham O.A.M. — author, Paralympic gold medallist and Order of Australia recipient. Parents/guardians are welcome too, with a dedicated session on supporting their teen’s transition to uni. Free lunch, a drink on arrival and a La Trobe pack are all included. Collarts annual high school competitions – submissions close 27 July

Collarts have launched their annual Competitions for high school students in years 10, 11, and 12. These competitions are a great opportunity for young creatives to showcase their talents across the following disciplines. These include:

  • Music Performance – Songwriting Competition
  • Performing Arts – Monologue Competition
  • Photography - “Home” What does home mean to you?
  • Fashion – Design Competition
  • Screen & Media – Short Film Competition

Prizes on offer include a Nikon camera, Melbourne International Film Festival Deluxe Passes, Demo Recording Sessions, Professional Headshots, Melbourne Fashion Week Runway Tickets. Bond scholarship applications for Year 12 students are now openBond University provides a range of awards including full-fee scholarships from $107,040 - $214,080 in value, and part-fee scholarships from $26,760 - $ 107,040 in value. Whether students exemplify stand out skills or have excelled in their academic, leadership, community or sporting efforts, Bond scholarships provide an opportunity to further support their studies at Bond and be recognised for their achievements. Interested students can explore the many Bond Scholarships on offer and take note of the closing dates listed below. To apply students are to use this Bond Scholarships 2025 Application guide – follow the how to apply instructions on page 3 and read the FAQs on page 4.

There are two Bond scholarships 2025 application closing dates:

  • Thursday 31 July for the Vice Chancellor‘s Elite Scholarship, Vynka Hohnen Scholarship, and all sports scholarships.
  • Thursday 28 August for all other scholarships.

Careers with STEM course guides and Job kits

The Careers with STEM course guides are free downloadable 12-page e-mags offering helpful information for people from school age to postgraduate level looking to explore paths to exciting new STEM careers and the study options to get there.

What is that STEM job? Careers with STEM Job Kits are free downloadable 8-page e-mags which offer a complete introduction to individual STEM careers. Discover what a specific STEM job is all about, meet real people working in that job and find out what you can do right now to set your career on the right path.

 

School Leaver resources

Study Work Grow have provided some practical steps, strategies, and resources to help students make informed choices about their post-high school pathway. The National Careers Institute (NCI) provides careers information and resources on their Your Career website to help people better plan and manage their career. For students leaving high school this year, the School Leavers Information Kit (SLIK) can help them uncover education, training, and employment options. They have also developed this Parents and guardians guide for supporting your young person in making informed decisions. And there are many programs and support services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander school leavers who are setting out on their journey after school.
