Catholic Identity & Culture

The Holy Week Easter Liturgy led by Year 10 students celebrated Memory. Towards the end of Jesus’ life Jesus asked his disciples to “Do this in memory of me.” To appreciate, remember and bring alive this passion for the Kingdom, Trinity College staff and students commemorated this most solemn event of the Christian faith with Father Michael. At this sacred time, we came together and prayed about the events of Holy Week and Easter.

Year 10 students led the Liturgy with an Acknowledgement of Country supported by Joey Chatfield on the didgeridoo. Students and staff were invited to enter a space of reflection and walk the journey with Jesus as he entered the final days of his life here of Earth. They shared the story of Jesus' life and death through mime, scripture and music and gave thanks for the life he shared with us, and the lives we have to share with others.

Year 10 students also challenged us to be loyal to our friends to stand by them in times of unrest, concern, grief and loss. To support our loved ones and be genuine with the love that we give to others now and always. This is how we make a difference and become more like Jesus. At school we can keep setting high expectations, give and take feedback without judgement and welcome new students, families and visiting guests.

May this Easter ,

We talk to our siblings or relatives,

visit our grandparents, parents and neighbours.

Share food with the needy,

support non-profit charitable organisations like Caritas,

praise others and share their unique gifts and talents.

May we spend time reflecting and praying to develop a deeper relationship with God through embracing the marginalised, the suffering, and the downtrodden with love and a recognition of their dignity.
