At Athol Road PS, Student Voice Council members have an important role in the school community, and it empowers students to actively participate in decision-making processes, fostering a sense of ownership, responsibility, and belonging.

When students have a say in matters that affect them directly, they feel more invested in the outcomes and are more likely to actively engage in school activities. Student representatives serve as advocates for their peers, voicing concerns, suggestions, and ideas that contribute to the overall learning and wellbeing of students.

Serving as a student voice councillor provides valuable opportunities for students to develop leadership skills, confidence, and self-advocacy. Through their involvement, students learn to articulate their ideas, work collaboratively, and take initiative in driving positive change.

Student Voice Council ensures that diverse perspectives and voices are heard and valued within the school community. By advocating for inclusivity and equity, they contribute to creating a school environment that celebrates diversity, respects individual differences, and fosters a sense of belonging for all students.

Student voice leaders and representatives play a vital role in promoting student empowerment, wellbeing, and engagement within the school community. By valuing and amplifying student voices at Athol Road PS we can create a more inclusive, collaborative, and student-centred learning environment.

Badges will be presented to our 2024 Student Voice Councillors at assembly on Friday 26th April
