Last Thursday 21st March, William H represented Epping Views Primary School in the Northern Regional Swimming Competition at WaterMarc.

William competed in the races of 50m Freestyle and 50m Butterfly. With a very strong competition, William did an outstanding job in both races.

We would like to congratulate William on his achievement of 3rd place in the 50m Butterfly.

Well done William!

Interschool Sports & School Based Sports

As we approach the end of another busy term in Inter-School Sports and School Based Sports it is the perfect time to reflect and celebrate on what was a terrific effort by all our students across the Grade 5 and 6 Cohort.

Our School Based Sports provided many opportunities for those students who are not involved in Inter-School Sports to get active outdoors and participate in many activities, some familiar and some not so familiar.

This term the students were able to get familiarised with the game of hockey through our special hockey coaching program brought to us by Joshua Irish from Hockey Victoria as well as the Vida Tennis program coached by Megan Dyson. Students doing School Based Sports were also able to experience playing Lawn Bowls at the local Epping RSL club, who provided fantastic greens for the students to learn the game.

On site, students enjoyed other sports such as Volleyball, Table Tennis and European Handball.

In the Inter-School Sports, Epping Views competed across all sports in both the A and B competitions. Soccer, Cricket and Basketball were all played in home and away rounds which featured games against all schools in the Bridge Inn South district.

As with last year, our students continue to uphold our school values, competing with excellence, honesty, responsibility and respect. The teams showed great cooperation and cohesion and were always competitive. A big shout out to the Soccer B Boys and Girls, and the Cricket B Girls for winning their respective competitions! All our results can be viewed below.

A big thank you to all the Grade 5 and 6 teachers this term for their efforts in facilitating, refereeing and scoring games. Well done to all the students and teams involved. We look forward to Term 2 when Epping Views will play AFL Footy, Netball, and European Handball. School Based Sports students will enjoy some new sports and an excursion for those who have paid for our sports program.
