Dear Parents and Carers,
Term 1 has been jam-packed with so many exciting opportunities for the students to learn and grow!
This term we launched Seesaw - a digital platform for you to see what is going on in the classroom. Students have been showing off their amazing work through photos, videos and a whole lot more. If you haven’t already hopped on board, it's a great way for you to see what your children are up to and chat about it at home. We value the partnership between home and school and this is a great way to do that.
Our Celebration of Learning event on Tuesday night saw hundreds of students and parents spend an hour in the classroom, celebrating the amazing learning of all of our students. Students showcased their understanding of ‘Identity’ in a variety of ways, including board games, goal setting, photo timelines, autobiographies and much more. Afterwards, students had an opportunity to dance, roll, jump, shoot and climb the inflatables. The ice-creams were very popular and parents snapped up some great deals on uniform. There has been great feedback about this event already. We hope you enjoyed this opportunity to meet with teachers and have a window into your child’s learning.
Students in Years 3 and 5 participated in the National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) tests. These assessments provide valuable insights into our students' progress in key areas of literacy and numeracy. We are incredibly proud of the effort and dedication shown by each student during these tests. The results will help us tailor our teaching programs to better meet the needs of our students and continue to strive for excellence in education.
The excursion to the Grand Prix provided our students with a firsthand glimpse into the world of motorsport, igniting their curiosity and passion for innovation. The roar of the engines as they raced around the track served as inspiration for our budding engineers and future leaders.
The Student Leadership Conference offered an opportunity for our young leaders to come together to exchange ideas, share experiences, and plan for a better future. Their enthusiasm and dedication to making a positive difference in our school community is commendable.
Harmony Day was a celebration of diversity and inclusion, where we came together as a school to embrace our differences and celebrate our shared community. We loved seeing everyone in their cultural dress or a splash of orange.
Interschool sports competitions brought out the competitive spirit in our students, showcasing their talent and sportsmanship on the field. Our teams have made us proud with their teamwork and support.
The Road to Respect program this week provided students with an opportunity to work on managing their emotions, bullying and help-seeking, being a buddy, values and respect. You can read more about it further on in this newsletter.
Today we celebrated the end of term with our final outdoor assembly and we were treated to performances from the Performing Arts Program. Students have been loving Performing Arts and we thank Sun for helping students to prepare the performances for today … it was great to see everyone moving and grooving to the music!!
2025 Prep enrolments will be open at the beginning of next term. If you have a child (or know a child) who will turn 5 before April 30 next year, and they live in our school zone, please access the enrolment documents on our web page for further information.
If you see some activity at the school over the holidays, our new fences are being installed. We look forward to seeing them all in place.
Finally, we wish you a restful and rejuvenating break and please enjoy the extra time with families, especially those celebrating Easter or other cultural or religious events over the holidays.
Kind regards,
Rachel Griffiths
On behalf of Mandy
