Year 6 Spotlight

David Mackay

In alignment with our school's PYP transdisciplinary theme of 'How We Express Ourselves', Year 6 students have embarked on an exciting journey where mathematics, art, and science meet. Central to this exploration is the understanding that scientific innovation can significantly contribute to fostering innovation and creativity.

Recently, Year 6 students undertook a Guerrilla Art task where they transformed a part of our school grounds with chalk while carefully measuring its impact on student traffic, usage, and emotions.

With enthusiasm and creativity, students formulated hypotheses, collected data, and drew informed conclusions. This project not only serves as a practical application of scientific principles but also lays the groundwork for further exploration in Term 2. Through this interdisciplinary approach, students not only deepen their understanding of scientific concepts but also developed their analytical and creative skills. Congratulations to all of our students for completing this task with such enthusiasm and we look forward to a busy and exciting Term 2.
