Principal's Report

Rohan Cooper

Welcome to the final newsletter of Term 1, and hasn’t this term flown by! We have developed a short survey (link here) to ask your opinion on how the term has gone for your children; we look forward to reading all your responses!

Last night we held our first School Council meeting with our new group of councillors. I would like to congratulate Danny Benjamin, elected as President, Natalie Ferguson, elected Vice-President and Louise Kuramoto, elected Treasurer, as the members of our executive team. I thank all councillors for their attendance last night and look forward to their positive contributions across the year.

Earlier this week, our staff farewelled Jan Minett, who is retiring after significant service to our school and the Department of Education. Jan, as is her way, did not want a fuss made of her, however we did manage to enjoy a morning tea with her, share some stories and talk about her plans in retirement. Jan, on behalf of our school and broader community, thank you for your many years of wonderful service and all the best for your adventures in the future.

In this edition of the newsletter, you will see a new page titled ‘enrolment’. There is plenty for us to focus on in this area, with some key information to look out for:

2025 Prep Families

  • Join us on a school tour, co-facilitated by our school captains, each Friday at 9:30am. Bookings essential through our website or via the office.
  • 2025 Prep Information Night from 5:30pm on Tuesday 14th May.
  • Enrolment for 2025 due by Friday 26th July.

Year 6/7 Transition

  • Look out for information regarding enrolment for secondary school in 2025, to be shared at all government schools early in Term 2.

As my final article for the term draws to a close, I would like to thank our students, staff and families for their support this term. I hope the school holiday break provides everyone with an opportunity to spend time with family and friends, as well as re-charging so we are ready for a busy term 2!

Thanks for your ongoing support and keep doing your best.

Regards,

Rohan Cooper
