FIRST EUCHARIST REFLECTIONS FROM OUR YEAR 4'S

Shelan

I felt happy and proud when I got my First Eucharist with many more to come. I also felt proud about taking Jesus in me. My parents told me about why we have a Eucharist and why it is a key and essential part of our life. I had mixed feelings like nervous, anxious, happy and proud. I think that I felt all those feelings as I have never received this sacrament before and did not know what to do. The best part of the mass was when I received the host as I wanted to receive Jesus and him to be a part of my life.

Marcus

I felt excited because I couldn’t wait to receive the host in front of my family. I was nervous because I was doing a reading  in front of the whole crowd. My Nanny came to the Eucharist and after we had Pizza and it was delicious. After that we had lots of ice cream which was delicious too.

It was a great day.

Patchy

I felt excited because I finally got to eat the bread. I was also excited because the moment had finally arrived and I didn’t want to drop the bread. Afterwards we had a party with my friends and family. We had a party with friends and family to celebrate something exciting. We had a 4 hour party with 36 people and we played a few games. It was a fun day.

Liam

I was pretty nervous but happy to be with my friends. I felt excited because the moment finally arrived. I wanted to make sure I didn’t drop the bread because everyone was watching and it would be embarrassing. I was feeling excited and nervous at the same time because I was excited to get the bread and nervous because all the attention was on me.  It was a great day.

Georgia

I was feeling a bit nervous because it was your first time I have made my First Eucharist. I was also excited because I got to see all of my family and friends and celebrate with them. I was excited because you had just finished an important celebration and sacrament.  My friends and cousins came over to celebrate with me.

Tess

I felt very nervous to go up and receive my Eucharist from Father Dispin, especially after seeing some of the reactions from others. The bread tasted like cardboard! I carried the bread to the altar, I loved being chosen to do this. After receiving the Eucharist I was relieved and happy.

Will

I was very excited for my First Eucharist. When I got there, I saw all of my family and friends but my legs were hurting because I’d had a soccer match just beforehand. I felt happy when I received the Eucharist because it brought me closer to Jesus.

Isaac

I was very excited when I received my first Eucharist because now I am a bigger part of the Church. I enjoyed the taste of the bread. After Eucharist, I went back to my house with all of my family to celebrate. I had the biggest cake ever and sausage rolls.

Matilda

When I was going to get the bread I was nervous. After I received it I didn’t like it. My dad took lots of photos of me. After Eucharist, my family and friends went to Wantirna Hill Club and ate some cake.

Romeo

When I received the bread for the first time, I felt nervous because others didn’t like it. I loved it! I was also very nervous when I was doing my reading but once I started my nerves went away. Afterwards, my family came over and celebrated.
