GSG Interschool Equestrian Team
In the April school holidays, the GSG Equestrian Team competed in the Equestrian WA Interschool State Championships, held at the State Equestrian Centre in Brigadoon over four days.
This was the biggest team to have represented our school for many years, with Felicity, Charlotte and Amelia entered in the Championship classes, and Abbie and Sadie competing in the Participation classes.
The team included:
Felicity Ericsson, Year Twelve on Duke
Amelia McDonald, Year Nine on Chanel
Charlotte Berryman, Year Nine on Tosca
Abbie Cameron, Year Seven on Diamond
Sadie Cameron, Year Four on Cherry and Dale
The Equestrian WA Interschool State Championship competition provides the opportunities for students around the state to compete in a range of disciplines; including Dressage, Show Jumping, Show Horse and Combined Training (Dressage and Show Jumping).
Some of the most notable achievements for our team riders throughout the competition included:
Felicity: Third place in the Secondary Working Hunter Championship, and third place in the Secondary 90cm Optimum Time Show Jumping
Amelia: Third place overall in the Intermediate Working Hunter Championship, and Sixth place overall in the Intermediate Novice Dressage Championship
Charlotte: Sixth place overall in the 60cm Secondary Show Jumping Championship, and eighth place overall in the Show Hunter Championship
Abbie: Sixth place in 45cm Secondary Combined Training, and sixth in the 45cm Secondary Two Phase Show Jumping
Sadie: Third place in the Primary Prep Dressage, and third in the Primary 45cm OT Show Jumping.
A great deal of organisation, determination and preparation was required by our school team riders and their amazing families who supported them throughout the week.
A big thank you also goes out to Miss Ella Cameron our Team Manager, Mrs Penni Berryman our Team Coordinator, and Mrs Mary-Lou Henderson for taking photographs.

Netball Carnival
"In Week Three a group of Year Ten to Twelve girls hit the road to Katanning to represent Great Southern Grammar at the GSSSA Netball Carnival.
There were seven teams in our pool - NASHS, ASHS, St Joseph's, Katanning SHS, Narrogin SHS, Denmark SHS, and of course Great Southern Grammar.
Looking solely at the ladder we did not do very well but I think that for a team who have never played before we improved and bonded over the day which is something we will all value.
Our team persevered through the tricky conditions, wind veering the ball away from the hoop, rain making us slip and slide all over the place.
This carnival gave us girls a great opportunity to try new positions we may have never tried before and practice the new rolling subs.
Thank you to Mr Symonds for driving the bus and organising the trip and thank you to Mrs Poole for coaching our amazing team."
