From The Principal Team
Hi Parents and Carers,
A number of updates have taken place to our school grounds over the last few weeks. We have had teams of people in to pressure wash different surfaces, repaint coloured lines on the asphalt areas, replace the sand in the sand pits, top up our playgrounds with new mulch making the surface nice and thick, and instal new colourful shade sails over the Wooden Playground. Please find some photos below of the updated works.
We have also welcomed chickens back to BPS, with eight new chickens residing in the coop. Three are still growing, and five of them are 19 weeks old and already laying. There has been a lot of excitement as we've welcomed the chickens to our school! Thank you to Mrs Lindy McManus, our Environmental Science and Sustainability teacher, and our Sustainability Captains for helping settle the chickens in. We're looking forward to seeing our students get involved in different ways to help take care of them.
We extend a huge congratulations to the students who represented our school at the Division Cross Country event last Thursday 23rd. We are very proud of everyone's efforts and congratulate you all on doing such a wonderful job representing Beaumaris Primary.
Do you have a child joining us in Prep in 2025? We are currently welcoming enrolments! If you have a child starting in Prep next year, please email or hand your enrolment form for them into our office staff. You will need the completed enrolment form (copy attached below), your child's Immunisation History Statement, and a copy of your child's birth certificate. If you have friends interested in Beaumaris Primary for their child, please encourage them to get in touch. We'd love to share more about our wonderful school and answer any questions they may have.
This week our staff and other Department of Education members gathered together to recognise and celebrate our previous Principal, Sheryl Skewes', retirement. Sheryl's career spanned over many school settings and many areas, not just in Victoria. She positively impacted the lives of so many. We congratulate Sheryl on a wonderful career and thank her for all that she has done for Beaumaris Primary School over her 11 years as Principal here. Sheryl has kindly gifted a plaque to our school which is now mounted next to the mosaic mural.
Congratulations to Mrs Alysha Murton and her husband Will who have welcomed their baby boy, Mac Smith Murton. Big sisters Ivy and Frankie are very proud and everyone is doing well.
A lot of fun was had at lunch time yesterday with Year 6 students vs. Staff netball matches taking place. The music and the cheering from students across all year levels created a wonderful atmosphere and it appeared a great time was had by all.
Enjoy the rest of your week.
Kind Regards,
David, Grace and Ellen
