AGTV GERMAN POETRY COMPETITION

Students in Levels 4, 5 and 6 who wish to participate in the annual AGTV Germany Poetry Competition are invited to recite their selected poem (from the list of poems distributed in German lessons) at B1 in the German room on:

Thursday, 13th June

For any students who would like some assistance in preparing for this competition or who would like an audio recording of their poem please see one of our friendly German teachers during eating time (11:00 – 11:15 am) on Wednesdays or Thursdays.

Only three students from each year level (4 – 6) will be selected to represent Rangeview PS at the Regional Final. The Regional Final will be held in Term 3. More details to be announced soon. Should students be awarded a first or second place at the Regional Final they will then be invited to take part in the State Final (held at the Austrian Club in Heidelberg) on Saturday, 19th October (level 5 and 6 students only). All students involved in the competition will receive a certificate and prizes.

We wish students ‘viel Glück’ (good luck) and happy practicing!

DEUTSCH MIT SOCKE

(GERMAN WITH SOCK)

Do you have any odd socks lying around at home?

Can’t find the matching pairs?

Wunderbar!

The German program would love to have any socks that you no longer need (preferably not with holes!), as all Level 1 & 2 students will be making sock puppets as part of the ‘Deutsch mit Socke’ (German with ‘Sock’) program this term.

Simply place any sock donations in the box labelled ‘Socken’ outside the German room (room 9 in the Junior Building).

Danke schön!

GERMAN WORD OF THE WEEK

This week’s German Word of the Week is:

Ich habe Hunger

I am hungry

Students who correctly use this phrase may be awarded house-points for their team. Viel Spaß damit! (Have fun with it!)
