Principal's Message

Mr Kyle Baggaley | Principal

As we reach the end of Term 2, I want to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for the incredible effort and dedication we see each day from members of our community.

The King's College is an amazing community to be a part of. We are so blessed to have outstanding staff, students, and parents who each form an integral part of the great culture and environment that we have here. I am so proud to work in and be a part of this community.

I often reflect on the College vision statement: "To be an Exceptional Christ-centred Learning Community." In this, I see three key elements, and with some quick research, I was able to find the following explanations:

Exceptional:

  • Striving for excellence in all areas, including academics, sports, arts, and personal development.
  • Encouraging both students and staff to push beyond their limits and constantly improve.
  • Celebrating achievements and milestones, no matter how big or small, as part of a journey towards greatness.

Christ-centred:

  • Placing Christ at the heart of all we do, guiding our actions, decisions, and interactions.
  • Fostering a community where Christian values such as love, compassion, forgiveness, and integrity are lived out daily.
  • Encouraging spiritual growth and a deeper understanding of faith among students and staff.

Learning Community:

  • Promoting a culture of continuous learning and intellectual curiosity.
  • Creating an environment where collaboration, respect, and mutual support are paramount.
  • Ensuring that education extends beyond the classroom, encompassing life skills, moral development, and social responsibility.

By integrating these elements, we aim to cultivate an environment where students not only achieve academic success but also develop into well-rounded, grounded individuals who are prepared to make a positive impact on the world. This vision drives all elements of life at The King's College.

I am grateful that this semester has been filled with lots of exciting events and activities that have provided a diverse range of opportunities for our students. A quick glance at the calendar shows a variety of sporting events, educational activities, social opportunities, incursions, excursions, and community initiatives.

As we look ahead to Term 3, let's carry forward the momentum we've built. Together, we can continue to achieve great things and make our school a place where everyone thrives.

Philippians 4:13 says, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." As we finish the last week of term, may this verse inspire us all to persevere and embrace the challenges ahead with confidence.

Wishing you all a restful and enjoyable break. Let's return in Term 3 with renewed energy and excitement for the opportunities that lie ahead.

Warm regards,

Kyle Baggaley
