Earthwatch Australia Student Challenge - Applications Open
Earthwatch Australia are looking for students in Years 10, 11 and 12 at SA and VIC Government schools to join our upcoming expedition Ecosystems of the Murray River and Mallee
In their mission to inspire the next generation of environmental stewards, The Student Challenge gives secondary school students the chance to live and work in the field during their holidays with leading researchers to help solve some of Australia’s most pressing environmental issues. It is an eye opening, adventurous and exciting opportunity for students to explore their interest in science and the environment.
Expedition details
Location: Calperum Station, SA
Dates: 27th Sep – 3rd Oct 2024
Cost: Fully funded!
The George Alexander Foundation covers the expedition costs, including accommodation, food, transport and insurance.
To be eligible for these funded places, students must:
· Be in year 10, 11 or 12
· Attend a VIC or SA State Government school
· Have not previously participated
Students do not need any prior field training, that’s why this expedition exists – to acquire skills! They will need to complete an online application form, and highlight their passion for Environmental Science and the natural word. A letter of reference from a teacher or Principal will also need to accompany the application. Melton City Careers Expo
Students in years 11 & 12 attended the Melton City Careers Expo at Cobblebank Stadium. Students were able to engage with a range of tertiary providers, employers and industry specialists.
