Chloe: In the last couple of weeks, the Level 6’s have had sessions where we have been working with the Prep’s, doing various activities. The activities we have been doing are related to what we are working on or, for example, last week was Reconciliation Week, so the activity we were doing was related to Reconciliation week. The Level 6’s and Preps work together brilliantly! We are all enjoying our sessions and are always looking forward to the next one. Everyone puts a lot of effort into the work we all put together. Also, a few weeks ago, I went with some of my friends to District Cross- Country and everyone did so well running! So congratulations everyone!
Hayley: It was one of those warm, Autumn days where the Level 6’s were preparing to run a race, also known as Cross-Country. Soon it was my turn along with my friends. Wanting to save my energy I quickly slowed down into a jog instead of a sprint. Most girls sprinted past me but I didn’t care. So, now I know that all of that paid off because I started catching up and soon became 1st place! Then the following week I was off to the next level- District. But this time it was nothing like cross country. Instead of competing with 20 to 30 people we competed with 55 people! Like last time my heart was beating. Everything counted on this moment to get into regionals. Now we’re off! Running as fast as I could I was 1st place for 5 minutes. But unfortunately at the end a couple of people passed me and I placed 28th. I was very proud of myself as I tried my very best and got way better than last year. Overall I would love to go on and run to represent our school!
Elijah: Last Week, the buddies and Grade Sixes learnt about reconciliation week. As an activity, we did word searches and colouring. The activities we have been doing are related to Reconciliation Week so we were remembering what happened when the colonies came. We all love spending time with our buddies and we hope we can spend more time with them in the future!
Vivaan- On the 28th of May, we got the opportunity to play with the cutest preps in the world! We had a full session of buddies and we got to be role models for the preps. We did compelling activities about reconciliation week with them and learned about how the different colonies in Australia came together. We all had an enjoyable time and we all learned something new. They all behaved absolutely amazingly and I cannot wait to have another fun and enjoyable session with them!
These past few weeks have been really galvanising with Interschool Sport, Buddies, Tribes and much more. One thing that really took up our energy and effort was the cross country race. The day was as hot as the sun and all the houses came together to compete against each other. The top ten finishers from each age group would get points for their respective houses. Everyone was cheering for their houses and were encouraging their friends to push through. The top ten finishers moved on to the next level which was district. Our school performed admirably and came 2nd place! I would really have liked to run with them for our school, however congratulations to everyone who ran to the district level and to those who are moving on! Have a great week everyone!!
