(Welcome in the Woi Wurrung language of the Wurundjeri people)
The level Prep to 3s have had a wonderful term learning about our Indigenous Australians. Here is some student voice about what they have enjoyed learning about...
LEVEL PREP
Evelyn Prep W - I like learning the aboriginal song because we sing it all day!
Arad Prep M - I liked reading the story 'Somebody's Land' because it was about the first people of this land.
LEVEL ONE
Sophia T 1M - I loved the story of Girbar because it has so many facts about Torres Strait Islanders. Watching the dance was so interesting!
Zyron 1L - I liked doing the stories about the Wurundjeri people because I always like to learn new things.
LEVEL TWO
Ellie 2F - I like the dreaming story which started with the fire and ended with the human because he understood the dreaming. I liked the book because it was a puzzle to pass on the Dreaming.
Theo 2M - I liked the book with all the animals. I really liked the part when the man understood everything and continued the dreaming.
LEVEL THREE
Jessica 3G - I liked to learn about the stolen generation because it was interesting.
Max 3P - I enjoyed the story 'Took the children away', because it was a mix of happiness and sadness.
LEVEL FOUR
The Level 4s have continued to research and discuss 'Our Diverse World'. In small groups they have made either a slideshow or poster about a country of their choice. They have researched the visible and hidden culture of these countries, as well as the similarities and differences between the country and Australia.
LEVEL FIVE AND SIX
The Level 5 and 6s have learnt how to be respectful travelers in a different culture. They researched the Cultural 'Don'ts' as well as the Cultural 'Dos' of a country and created either a poster, slideshow or a mini movie to share this information with others.
