Prep to Year 6 students have made fantastic progress in Chinese sessions this term.

After inquiring about the Chinese Pinyin chart and the tone marks, Prep learners used their visualising skills to complete their Chinese tone marks chart. They identified the differences among the 4 tone marks.

Year 1 and 2 students successfully created their 12 Zodiac Animals wheel and demonstrated a high level of engagement and enthusiasm. They were able to tell the Zodiac Animal that represented their birth year and even enjoyed singing the Chinese 12 Zodiac Animals song, a clear sign of their active participation in the learning process.

As creative and critical thinkers, Year 3 and 4 learners created a detailed poster introducing their home country, nationality, and the countries they wish to visit. It's impressive to see some students challenging themselves to write the full poster in Chinese characters, especially with the reasons behind their travelling purposes.

Year 5 and 6 students showcased their open-mindedness when creating the informative poster introducing different aspects of themselves in Chinese, such as their name, age, Zodiac Animal, date of birth, current year level, close friends, family members and hobbies. They gradually developed a better understanding of the Chinese numbers from 0-31 to boost their numeracy skills in Chinese. Most of them presented their poster with almost accurate pronunciation in class, and a group of students even extended themselves to complete the extension section on their assessment.

I am proud of the students' achievements in Semester One and look forward to teaching them in Term 3. Their hard work and dedication have been truly inspiring!
