Scholastic Book Fair

We are delighted to inform you that the recent Scholastic Book Fair held at our school was a tremendous success, raising over $1400 in books for our library. The fair was well-attended, and each afternoon was bustling with eager learners excited about the wide selection of books available.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the parents, students and volunteers who supported the Book Fair either through donating books directly to our library, purchasing books or generously offering their time to make the event a success. Your contributions have not only enriched our library collection, but have also played a significant role in fostering a love for reading among our students.

Encouraging a love of reading is essential in nurturing well-rounded and intellectually curious individuals, and your active participation in events like the Book Fair is instrumental in achieving this goal. By supporting initiatives that promote literacy, you are helping to create a culture of learning and exploration within our school community.

We encourage you to continue to foster a love for reading at home by engaging in discussions about books, setting aside dedicated time for reading, participating in the Premier's Reading  Challenge and exploring new genres and authors together. Reading not only enhances academic skills but also fosters creativity, critical thinking, and empathy in children, shaping them into lifelong learners.

Once again, thank you for your support in making the Scholastic Book Fair a resounding success. Together, we can continue to inspire a passion for reading and learning in our students, equipping them with the skills they need to thrive in an ever-changing world.

Victorian Premier’s Reading Challenge

We are excited to announce that we are now 100 days away from the conclusion of this year's Premier's Reading Challenge. This is a fantastic opportunity for our students to immerse themselves in the world of books and discover the joy of reading.

We are pleased to report that we have seen great momentum with the number of books being read by our students. Currently, 34 students, which accounts for 5% of our cohort, have successfully completed the challenge. This is a commendable achievement and we want to congratulate these students for their dedication and love for reading.

For those who have not yet completed the challenge, we want to encourage you to continue reading and adding to your book tally. Reading not only enhances your vocabulary and comprehension skills but also sparks imagination and creativity. By participating in the Premier's Reading Challenge, you are developing a lifelong love for reading that will benefit you in all aspects of your academic and personal life.

We urge all students, with the support of their families, to make use of the remaining 100 days to explore new genres, authors, and stories. Please take this opportunity to challenge yourself and expand your horizons through the wonderful world of books. Remember, every book you read brings you one step closer to completing the challenge and unlocking the rewards that come with it.

Let's continue together to foster a culture of reading within our school community and support each other. Together, we can achieve great success and instill the love for reading in every student.

If you have any questions or need assistance with the Premier's Reading Challenge, please do not hesitate to contact your Classroom/English teachers. Let's make these 100 days count and celebrate the joy of reading together.
