Grade 2 Sleepover

The Grade 2 sleepover at school was a fantastic event, filled with laughter, excitement, and camaraderie. The children were on their best behavior, demonstrating respect and kindness throughout the night. From setting up their sleeping bags in the CilDara to participating in fun activities like storytelling and games, their enthusiasm was infectious. The teachers were impressed by how well the kids listened to instructions and helped one another. Even during bedtime, the children settled down quickly, whispering goodnight to their friends before drifting off to sleep. Overall, the sleepover was a memorable experience, showcasing the wonderful sense of community and friendship among the students.

Attendance

This term we have had a strong emphasis on school attendance. Each class has been working towards completely colouring their attendance chart, 1 letter is coloured each day the whole class is at school. Grade 1-2 are the first class to complete their attendance chart- Congratulations!!!!! Their Student Advisory Council representatives are in negotiation with me about what their prize will be.

Wood Raffle

The winner of the wood raffle is Ben Asquith (Lottie's Dad)! Congratulations, Ben! Our Fundraising Committee did an amazing job organising this annual fundraising event and they raised $1695.

A big THANK YOU to the Cavill Family, the Grant Family, and Andrew Fitzgerald (Lily's Dad) for collecting the load of wood for us. Your generosity and hard work are greatly appreciated!

Volunteer Induction

Thank you to all of the parents who attended our volunteer induction on Monday, the 3rd of June. Your participation will greatly benefit our school community and ensure that we are adhering to the child safe standards. Your commitment to supporting our school is invaluable, and we appreciate your dedication to creating a safe and nurturing environment for our students.

Reconciliation Week

Last Friday some of our Grade 5-6 students felt privileged to be invited to the very first Kyabram Reconciliation Walk. It was an opportunity for reflection and discussion of the history for the Aboriginal Culture in Australia. Students participated in a smoking ceremony and asked important questions, as they listened to what is being done in our community to encourage reconciliation. It was humbling to see the students show respect while chatting with elders and learning about didgeridoos.

NEW Soccer Nets

Thank you to Rosalie Mulchay for her generous $500 donation towards our new school soccer nets. Rosalie saw a need within our school community after listening to her grandchildren talk about their love of playing soccer, and not being able to do this at school because we didn't have nets. As a result of this she reached out to me and offered her donation. I took this lovely idea to our Student Advisory Council and Parent Advisory Council to confirm they were happy to support this idea- of course they said YES!!!. Rosalie, your support is greatly appreciated and will make a significant difference in enhancing our sports facilities for the students.

Athletics Day

Excitement is building as we approach the upcoming whole school athletics day, a first of its kind for our school, scheduled for Friday, the 14th of June, at Kyabram P-12 College from 10am. Students, teachers, and parents alike are buzzing with anticipation for this groundbreaking event. It promises to be a day filled with spirited competition, teamwork, and school pride, as students from all grades come together to participate in a variety of athletic events. The sense of unity and enthusiasm is palpable, with everyone eager to showcase their skills and cheer on their peers. This inaugural athletics day is set to be a highlight of the school year, fostering a strong sense of community and celebrating the diverse talents of our students.
