Sustainability
‘Taking Action’
On the 1st of April I went to Fiji and while I was there, I went kayaking and I was very surprised to see the amount of rubbish in the water! I picked it up because I know it is really bad for the ocean and planet. Later I found there is a marine centre in the resort, and you can do lots of different sustainable activities, I planted mangroves and I think it is a good example of taking action!

Our Year 6 students have been doing a great job during Take Action Tuesday at collecting rubbish around the school yard. We encourage all students to avoid bringing packaged food to school but also to pick up after themselves or pick up rubbish around the school when they see it. Together, let’s keep our school community rubbish free!
Marine Ambassadors Excursion
On the 10th of May the whole ‘I Sea I Care’ team went to Cheltenham Primary to meet up with the other Marine Ambassadors from other schools to take part in a peer teaching workshop, learning about how to care for our oceans.
We got there at 9:30 after a long walk and explored the new school. We met in the sustainability room and we talked about what we were going to be doing. We all got roles assigned and then practiced our parts, we were going to present to the Cheltenhan PS year 1s. We stopped to have a recess break and then did one more practice before we presented.
We were quite nervous but also really excited about teaching the children about the environment. There were many activities that we were allowed to do. The whole experience with the grade 1s was great and we all had a ton of fun.
