Beaumaris North Cross Country Year 3-6

On Thursday 2 May, year three, four, five and six had cross country at Balcombe Park Reserve. The day started when year six walked down to the reserve at around 8:45, getting ready, warming up or eating, in my case. We put our bags in our allocated spots for Wood, McDonald, Reserve and Morey then waited for all the other year levels to arrive and start running or walking around the track.

The first people who ran were the year fives, followed by fours then sixes and finally threes. I ran in the year six girls, it took a while to finish the track, however the results were worth it, I came 17th and am proud of my efforts. Congratulations to anyone who made it into districts or division, you all did great.

Inquiry & Literacy

In inquiry we finished off our second inquiry where we are in place and time and started our new inquiry how the world works.

We started our unit of inquiry by watching a movie called 2040 which was about a guy going all around the world trying to find ways to improve the world and what 2040 could look like.

Today we learned our learner attributes which was exploration of interest and passions inspires learning and innovation to learn what the words mean. And we also did for literacy a reading comprehension.

This week in inquiry we introduced our new unit, how the world works. We watched a movie called 2040 about a dad trying to give his daughter a better future by travelling around the world looking at different innovative ideas that people have created to help with their problems. Like, in Singapore, they made small, driverless, eco-friendly cars; and in Bangladesh, they made villages completely powered by solar.
