Art's Building

We are thrilled to invite you to the grand opening of our Refurbished Arts Building! After much anticipation and hard work, we are excited to officially showcase this beautifully updated space to our community.

The newly refurbished Arts Building is designed to cater to the needs of 21st-century learning, offering an inspiring environment for our students and staff. This project has been a labour of love, and we can't wait to share the results with you.

Guests on day include Bishop Shane, Sandhurst Ltd. Director Kate Forgarty, MP Martha Haylett, former principals along with members of our community.

Staff Professional Development Days: In accordance with the new enterprise bargaining agreements CEMA 2022, staff are provided with 9 pupil-free days per year. The principal plans the days, and the agenda is determined based on the Annual Improvement Plan and School Improvement Plan. On these days, staff are required to attend onsite and develop their knowledge of specific areas or gain accreditation.

Earlier this month, staff were actively improving their practices and training in alignment with the National Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disabilities (NCCD). This was part of St Mary's ongoing commitment to providing an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all our students.

On the day, staff undertook disability standards training and refined our intervention practices. All participants were engaged in a moderation process, which lets us ensure best practices are implemented consistently to identify students at risk, create learning goals and monitor intervention practices.

Earlier in the term, we looked at what the latest research is and writing to complement our Science of Reading journey. Since last year, St Mary's partnered up with Jocelyn Seamer, a leading educationalist in the science of reading. The staff have gained direct access to work with Jocelyn. This is a great opportunity for staff to refine our practices. Jocelyn’s resources come highly recommended and are currently used in our school, along with many others around Australia.  She will continue to work with staff once a term to aid our planning and delivery of the Literacy curriculum.

St Mary's Social Night

Staff are pleased to announce the return of the popular St Mary's Trivia Night.

Taking place on Friday, August 9th, we have partnered with Black Wallaby Wines to host their award-winning product for wine tasting. They will also be selling their products throughout the evening. We secured an outstanding MC who brings with him a range of official AFL memorabilia, which will go to auction. Our host receives the stock directly from the AFL at a discounted price, which allows our school to make a profit from the sales.  We have Smoke 'n' Roast on board, bringing their food truck to fill our tummies.

Thank you to those families who have already arranged their tables. Bringing more people into our social network will raise money for our school. Teams can be made up of around 6-10 people; however, 8 is comfortable.

If anyone wishes to donate prizes, please let me know, as this would reduce our costs.

Due to limited spaces available, table bookings will be confirmed upon payment. We ask that each table nominate a captain to collect fees and make one single table payment by direct debit. The banking details are below;
