What's happening in Italian?
Over the last few weeks in our Italian classes, the students in Years 5 and 6 have been diving into the world of Community Workers- Using the Languagenut program alongside fun and interactive activities, they have been expanding their vocabulary while strengthening their reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills. Through engaging games and hands-on tasks, they’ve been bringing the language to life. It’s been fantastic to see their confidence grow as they use their new Italian words in creative ways
The students in Years 3 and 4 have been having a fun time expanding their Italian vocabulary using the Languagenut program, where they have been practising new vocabulary about community workers through games and interactive activities. To take their language skills even further, they’ve also begun exploring prepositions for location. With hands-on practice, the students have been actively using prepositions to describe where things are—bringing
their Italian learning to life in a real and interactive way.
Our Year 1 and 2 students have learnt a new chant ‘Chi e’?’ - ‘E’ il pompiere’ (who is it? It is the fireman) to reinforce vocabulary related to community workers.
They have also been expanding their Italian vocabulary by learning prepositions for location. Through pair activities and role-play scenarios, the children have been using these words in a hands-on way. They’ve enjoyed modelling different prepositions while their classmates guess the correct term, making learning both interactive and enjoyable. It has been wonderful to see their confidence grow as they use their new language skills in creative ways.
Our Prep students have been bringing their Italian skills to life. This week, they put together everything they’ve learned so far—greeting each other, asking "Come ti chiami?" (What’s your name?), and responding correctly, all in Italian. Working in pairs, they confidently practiced their conversation skills and they really impressed me with their fantastic pronunciation. Bravissimi Preps, keep up the great work!
Saluti e alla prossima volta!
