Wear it wild day

The Sustainability group have been promoting our ‘Wear it wild’ dress up day on Monday the 24th of March.  Sustainability Group Leaders will be raising money for the World Wildlife Foundation as part of Wales Street's Earth Hour 2025 celebrations.

Students are asked to dress up as their favourite animal and bring a gold coin donation for WWF.

The Sustainability Group Leaders are hoping to raise $500 to symbolically adopt a platypus and support the conservation of these unique animals.

If families would like to donate to WWF and receive a Tax receipt they can do so via this link:

On Monday the 24th in classroom time we will be learning about our Australian native animals and how we can protect them.

Earth hour

A reminder to our Wales Street community that this Saturday the 22nd of March is Earth hour- a global movement organized by WWF where people, communities, and businesses switch off non-essential lights for one hour, to show support for environmental action and climate change awareness. If you are participating in Earth hour with your family, community or friends it would be great to get some photos on our Wales Street Facebook, or feel free to send them to me (at toby.marquette.edu.vic.gov.au or search for me on Compass) and I will be happy to include them in our next Sustainability news.

As a school, Wales Street will participate in Earth hour by switching our lights and non-necessary electrical devices on the 24th of March as part of our Wear it Wild activities.

Yours in sustainability,
