SEEKING A BASS PLAYER TO JOIN THE WALES ST PARENT BAND
Your very own Wales St Parent Band – No Hat No Play will once again be rocking out with five other Northside schools in the first of the two Northside Battles at the Croxton Bandroom on Thursday 19th June 2025.
Tickets are now on sale – all proceeds from ticket sales go to our Performing Arts program. Invite your family and friends – it is an awesome night and fun way to support the school!
Note: the battles are an adult only event, so organise those babysitters early.
2024 Battle
Last year was the first year that No Hat No Play entered the competition. We rocked out at the Northcote Social Club for the second Northside Battle.
We didn’t take home the gong, but we did win the most tickets sold and were recipients of the Rock Academy Scholarship. The scholarship allowed a Wales St student to attend the program, which is designed to connect young musicians, help improve skills and provide a recording and performance experience.
We were also selected as the wild card entry for the Northside Vs. Southside Finals at the Corner Hotel.

With the help and support of the school community, we raised a whopping $2,784! The funds have gone towards this year’s school production of The Wizard of Oz.

A little bit about Parents Battle of the Bands (PBOB)
Founded by the amazing Anna Vermooten, the Parents Battle of the Bands is a not-for-profit organisation raising funds for kids’ music programs. It uses the power of music to ignite young hearts, build community, strengthen social connections and enhance mental and cognitive well-being. PBOB is a registered charity, so donations are now tax-deductible.
