The Earth, Sun and beyond
Year 3
We have been studying the Sun and its impact on our lives. We are discovering how the position of the Sun changes throughout the day and have made their own sundials. By observing shadows and movement, and learning how people have used the Sun for navigation and timekeeping for centuries.
Year 4
We are uncovering the secrets beneath our feet! We have been learning all about the Earth's crust, from the rock cycle of rocks to how water shapes the land. We are exploring the forces that have shaped our planet over millions of years and how human impacts have changed the world around us.
Year 5
We have been exploring the mysteries of our solar system! They are currently researching different planets and designing their own spacecraft to explore them. From extreme temperatures on Mercury to the giant storms of Jupiter, we have been learning what it would take to survive and study these distant worlds. We will bring our designs to life using Makers Empire.
Year 6
We are tackling real-world challenges by designing products to help people during natural disasters. After researching topics such as earthquakes, floods, bushfires, and more, we have been coming up with creative solutions to keep communities safe. Our designs will be presented along with explanations of how they could make a difference in an emergency.
