As we move into the second half of Term 1, please have a look at the Year level pages to see what everyone has been up to across both campuses. As always, it’s been a busy fortnight at NMPS!
Below are a few upcoming events we would like the school community to be aware of.
NAPLAN
Next week students in Years 3 & 5 will take part in the 2025 National Assessment Program - Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN). Please see the below schedule for NAPLAN.

Students who are absent on these dates will have the opportunity to sit catch-up tests up until Monday 24th of March. Catch-up tests for Year 3 Writing must be conducted by Monday 17th of March.
For more information on NAPLAN, please refer to Compass.
Ramadan
The Holy month of Ramadan has begun. Ramadan is a special month which involves fasting from first light (pre-dawn) to last light (post sunset). We have a number of students and staff at NMPS that observe Ramadan, and as such offer a prayer space for our senior students in our Errol Street Library. Anyone wishing to use a celebratory greeting throughout Ramadan can say, “Ramadan Mubarak” which means ‘have a blessed Ramadan’.
Looking Ahead…
Harmony Day
Harmony Day takes place on the 21st of March. The event occurs on this day each year and has done so for over 20 years. The day itself marks an important date, as the 21st of March is the International Day for the Elimination of Racist Discrimination. Whilst Harmony Week is a uniquely Australian event, it coincides with global efforts for the promotion of equality and inclusivity, centring on Harmony Day. Harmony Day is the focal point of the Harmony Week celebrations.
At NMPS, we will celebrate Harmony Week in our classrooms with a number of activities and with our Harmony Day picnic on Friday 21st March. We look forward to seeing families come together for the afternoon. More information regarding the Harmony Day Picnic will be shared via Compass.
Ride2School Day
Ride2School Day also falls on Friday 21st March. Ride2School Day is a national event, and we encourage your family to join in the fun and ride, walk, scoot or skate to school on Friday!
At NMPS, we encourage all families to walk, scoot, ride or catch public transport to school as often as possible every day. Please don’t forget your helmets! Please keep an eye open on Compass for further details about how you can join in the fun on Ride2School Day.
