Year 3 News

From Lizzie, Year 3 Teacher

Australian Geography

This term in Grade 3 our Humanities learning area is Geography.

We have been learning all about Australia, its states and cities. So far we have learnt about important constructed and natural landmarks such as the Sydney Opera House and the 12 Apostles.

We have looked at the population of Australia and the different states (did you know there are over 27 million people living in Australia?!)

We also learnt about how to read and interpret different maps. This week we are talking about the difference between weather and climate... What do you think the difference is? Here is some of our work from the term so far.

It has been really fun learning to use our iPads for research. We use websites such as Britannica, the Australian Bureau of Statistics and the Bureau of Meteorology to help us find out more information. We have so many more questions that we are hoping to answer this term.
