South Australia LC Championships

A team of 18 RSC swimmers, 4 Team Managers and Head Coach Andrew flew off to Adelaide on Wednesday 5th March to take part in the South Australia Long Course Age Championships from March 6 - 10th.  What an amazing opportunity and experience it was for our swimmers!

Over a massive 5 days of competition, our swimmers proved themselves in the water, with all 18 swimmers making a final during the championships. Our swimmers showed courage and determination as they battled it out against the best of the best from SA.

RSC was by far the loudest club in the stands, with team spirit shining through. Our swimmers cheered each other on so much that some swimmers had very little voice left on day 5! A massive congratulations to all of our swimmers- you all swam so well, had some massive PBs, made new friends, and had a fun and memorable experience.

Thank you to Coach Andrew for accompanying our swimmers. Thank you for watching every single race, for providing advice and feedback to our swimmers, for cheering and encouraging them, and for riding the wave of emotions with them all. The success of the trip and of our swimmers is a testament to you, but also to the entire RSC coaching team. Thank you to all of our coaches for investing in our swimmers and being part of their growth and journey.

To our 4 Team Managers- we could not have done this without you! A massive thank you to Jackie, Chris, Shauntelle and Justin for their unwavering effort to ensure our swimmers were looked after the entire trip. Chris & Justin were amazingly organised at the pool, ensuring all swimmers were marshalling when needed, warming up, and cooling down. They both went above and beyond in hot, uncomfortable conditions and always kept a smile on their faces. Their encouragement of swimmers kept up the team morale- Thank you so much Chris and Justin!! We are so proud as a club to have amazing volunteers like our 4 Team Managers. Trips like this wouldn't be possible without you.

Jackie & Shauntelle's catering skills were incredible the entire trip. They organised, shopped for, and cooked every meal, and ensured all swimmers had something they loved during the trip. As soon as one meal was complete, they started to prepare the next meal- nothing went to waste and the swimmers loved it! Some of their favourite meals were the slow cooked lamb shoulder, spaghetti & meatballs, and baked penne carbonara. Our team enjoyed endless snacks, juice boxes, ice poles and a lot of carbs and protein to keep them fuelled through heats and finals! Thank you so much Jackie & Shauntelle, you're both amazing!
