National Young Leaders Day
This week, twelve of our student leaders had the incredible opportunity to attend the National Young Leaders Day at the Melbourne Convention Centre. This prestigious event, Australia's largest gathering of young leaders, provided our students with invaluable insights and inspiration from some of the nation's most accomplished individuals.
Our students were privileged to hear from a remarkable lineup of speakers, including:
Emma McKeon: An Australian sporting legend, Emma shared her journey to becoming the most decorated Olympian in Australian history, emphasizing the importance of dedication, perseverance, and achieving your dreams.
Majak Daw: Born in Sudan, Majak and his family moved to Australia as refugees. When Majak debuted for North Melbourne, he became the first Sudanese-Australian to ever play in the AFL. Majak shared the love he has of his family and the importance of having a supportive network around him to achieve success in his sporting career.
Thomas Duncan-Watt: A talented young screenwriter and author, Thomas shared his creative process and insights into storytelling, inspiring our students to explore their own creative potential.
Catherine Laga'aia: Catherine is about to be one of the world's most recognised faces. She is starring as Moana in a live-action version of the Disney movie. She shared her insights into working hard to achieve your dreams and the power of having a supporting team around you.
The National Young Leaders Day provided our students with a unique platform to learn about leadership, resilience, and the power of positive impact. We are confident that the experiences and insights gained will empower our student leaders to make a positive difference within our school community and beyond. We are very proud of our student leaders of 2025.
