Learning Power Award Recipients

Congratulations to students who have been recognised by staff for their demonstration of one or many of the 6 Learning Powers celebrated at SMDP.

On Monday during our whole school assembly, the following students were acknowledged and their learning described so we all know why they are worthy recipients of our awards and applause.

Term 1, Week 4
PA	Ethan	Well done for being a collaborative learner who demonstrates kindness by always making sure your classmates are included and cared for. You are an awesome role model for our Prep community! Well done for a great start to the year, Ethan!
PN	Bao An	For being a collaborative learner who has adjusted to Prep with a great big beautiful smile on her face. Bao An’s kind and enthusiastic nature is infectious in the classroom making everyone feel excited about learning. Bao An listens and watches what is going on so that she is always ready to learn. Great job, Bao An!
1C	Tejasbir	For being a collaborative learner this week. You have shown kindness, patience, and a positive attitude while sharing ideas and listening to your classmates. Your teamwork has made group activities more fun and successful. You are now focused and trying your best at all learning tasks. You also always ensure you complete your leadership jobs to the best of your ability. Well done!
1O	Sallyann	For being a resilient learner who has quickly transitioned into our Grade One class. You have adapted to new routines and the St Martin’s Ways of Working with ease. We love having you in our class and Grade One Learning Community. We can;t wait to see you shine this year. Well done, Sallyann!
2M	Adau	For being a motivated learner. Each day, you arrive at school with a big smile, ready to start the day. You answer the roll with an enthusiastic "Good morning!" and bring a positive energy to the classroom. This week, you worked hard to finish your writing and shared lots of great ideas with the class. It’s wonderful to see you confidently putting your hand up to contribute. Keep up the amazing work—you should be very proud of yourself. Well done Adau!
2A	Jake	For being a motivated and resilient learner. It is clear you have been practicing your writing as you have made so much improvement and it is inspiring to see your persistence in tasks even when they can get a little challenging. You are engaged and interested in our weekly grammar lessons and are thriving, raising your hand to share your answers and ideas! It is joy to have you in 2A. Well done Jake!
3/4LM	Dut	For being a motivated learner who has demonstrated his leadership potential. Dut has been modelling the WOW’s, completing his learning to a high standard and is always the first to respond to the attention signal with accuracy. Well done Dut, we look forward to seeing you continue this high standard!
3/4K	Selina	For being a reflective learner. You have been listening carefully during learning time, and asking clarifying questions so you can be successful. You consistently do your best and a little bit more in class! This really stood out during Maths this week, where you reflected on feedback to drive your learning further. Your hard work is paying off Selina! Keep it up!
3/4N	Ila	For being a resilient learner. Your outstanding effort and 'never give up' attitude in class has been a reflection of you as a classmate. You try your best, even when things are challenging! You have shown that with effort and practice, anything is possible!
5/6S	Divyam	For being a curious learner. You ask questions and search for answers. You are great at investigating new ways to do things. You like to to explore and share your ideas with your classmates. This was evident when we completed our tin boat challenge. Keep having an open mind Divyam!
5/6D	Louie	For being a motivated Learner! Louie, you have demonstrated a commitment to your learning by being organised, focused, and making the most of every learning opportunity. Your ability to set up quickly and efficiently has allowed you to maximise your time and produce high quality work. Well done Louie.
5/6A	Areeb	For being a Reflective and thoughtful learner! Taking the time to think about his learning and seeking ways to improve in particular making excellent choices that allowed you to focus on maths this week. Demonstrating a reflective and mature attitude in your willingness to assist fellow students . Keep up the great work, Areeb

Term 1, Week 5
PA	Samaray	For being a resilient learner who has quickly and consistently followed new Prep routines and the St Martin's Ways of Working to effectively transition into the Prep Learning Community. Great effort Samaray!
PN	Mia	For being a resilient learner who persists even when it feels difficult. Mia has set a great example for her peers by adopting positive strategies to overcome morning worries and engage happily throughout the day. Your positive attitude has helped you to do your best and a little bit more. Well done Mia, you are a super star.
1C	Noah	For being a reflective learner in Mathematics this week. Noah was able to think deeply about his open ended challenging tasks and was able to teach the class his clever strategies. Noah confidently, accessed the extending prompts and even took his learning further by investigating further problems in the other year one classroom. What a fantastic mathematician you are Noah.
1O	Kaira	For being a reflective learner, particularly during our Initial Lit lessons. You are consistently organised and ready to learn, which sets a wonderful example for your classmates. It is impressive to see how you attentively listen to feedback given and work hard to apply it to improve your learning. Well done, Kaira! Keep up this amazing work!
2M	Luka	For being a motivated learner. You have started at our school with an incredible attitude! You have quickly taken on board how to get ready for learning, always showing enthusiasm to begin tasks and asking for help when needed. Not only are you a keen and motivated learner, but you always show respect to your teachers and classmates and demonstrate fantastic manners. Your classmates have noticed your great motivation and kindness—you’ve been spotted! Keep up the amazing effort, Luka!
2A	Nathan	For being a motivated leader in our classroom. You have only been here for 5 weeks but it is like you have been here forever! You have settled in so well, you are fun , diligent and motivated to get to work and try your best and that little bit more. Keep it up, Nathan!
3/4LM	Ashton	For being a motivated learner last week! He has been trying his best and a little bit more in the classroom by putting up his hand to talk, being resilient when challenges arise and has been taking on all learning tasks with perseverance! You are really adapting well to being a grade 3 and we couldn’t be prouder of you!
3/4K	Ethan	For being a motivated learner in Maths last week. You were enthusiastic and engaged during our open ended maths task on Friday! You avoided distractions and trialled different strategies to find multiple solutions. It was fantastic to see you driving your learning Ethan! Keep up the fantastic focus on your learning!
3/4N	Nicole	For being a motivated learner during writing. You showed perseverance while writing your narrative. Your ability to push through challenges and keep improving is a great example for others. Keep believing in yourself, Nash.
5/6S	Simone	For being a motivated learner. No matter what you are asked to do, you try your best and a little bit more. You drive your own learning, always striving to improve your outcomes. An example of this is your Data Representation work in Maths. Keep up the super effort Charlotte!
5/6D	Ashton	For being a collaborative and supportive leader in our classroom and school. You are always on the lookout for ways to help and support those around you, making sure that everyone feels included and valued. Your kindness, teamwork, and willingness to lend a hand create a positive and welcoming environment where learning and friendships can thrive. 5/6A	Evan	For being a resilient learner who never gives up! You showed determination and a true growth mindset while tackling the basketball hoop challenge during data collection in maths. By giving it a red-hot go, you successfully shot 10 baskets!Fantastic effort, Evan! Keep up your positive attitude.
