Principal's Message

Wawa, Wominjika.

Here at Old Orchard Primary School, we acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land we visit each day, the Wurrunguri and Woiwurrung people of the Kulin nation. We acknowledge and respect the elders and leaders past and present and the elders and leaders of all of the cultures and nationalities that are part of the Old Orchard Primary School community. We express our gratitude towards the orchards that were kept in place by the peoples on this land before us. We thank the traditional owners for sharing this beautiful land that we all love, and for keeping the land, sky, waterways and animals all in great condition for thousands of years, not only for themselves but for all the generations to come.

SRC (Student Representative Council) Elections

Congratulations to the students who have been selected as Old Orchard SRC representatives for 2025. The students work closely with staff (Rhiannon Trimby & Ruth Reading) with a focus on making our school a better place for students, staff and the broader school community. SRC badges will be presented at upcoming assemblies.

NAPLAN takes place eacher year in March for Year 3, 5, 7 and 9 students across Australia and data is used in conjunction with school based assessments to inform individual progress as well as cohort and school performance. Our students are very well prepared for the testing which commences next Wednesday.

We are delighted to welcome the newest member of our Old Orchard community, Lily Roche. Lily is the second daughter of our P.E. teacher, James Roche and his wife Jacqui and a sister for Emily. Congratulations to James and Jacqui - we look forward to meeting Lily in due course.
