School Council

Dear Tarneit Rise Primary School Community,

The AGM of the new School Council is on March 31st at 5.30pm. Community members are welcome.

Last year the School Council was working closely with the City of Wyndham to install another school crossing along Hummingbird Blvd.

We have been notified by the team leader of Traffic Planning that a concept plan for a (wombat) pedestrian crossing has been prepared by Council. Council is working closely with the Department of Transport (DTP) to ensure the design meets compliance with Australian standards and working on the lighting plan to ensure the crossing is adequately lit. Unlike a conventional school crossing a wombat crossing gives pedestrians right of way at all times. Council needs to demonstrate that lighting levels are satisfactory when it’s dark. 

We thank our families and community members for their feedback and acknowledge this has been (and remains) a long process and we do appreciate your patience. We feel confident DTP’s requirements will be satisfied and will keep our community updated once the relevant approvals have been met.
