Physical Education News

Dear families,
As we pass the middle of term one, we have lots of exciting news to share with you. Grades Prep-6 have completed their fundamental movement skills testing and we have been very impressed with the results. It has been amazing to see the progression students have made over such short period of time.
As always, please continue to send us photos of your superstars of the week so we can celebrate your amazing sporting achievements.
Preps, Grade 1 and Grade 2
The Preps, Grade 1s and 2s have started looking at throwing techniques. We are practising our skateboard stance and pointing twice before aiming at a target. In addition, we have started to explore underarm catching which will allow students to effectively participate in many different games.

Grade 3, Grade 4, Grade 5 and Grade 6
The upper school have completed their fundamental movement skills testing. This test looks at how students can transition between different movement skills such as hopping, skipping, kicking and throwing. As well as testing students transitions, we have also been testing how quickly they can manoeuvre around the course.
The data collected during the testing allows us to track progress. It also allows students to establish different movement goals for the year. By allowing student voice in this process, students can then focus on how they can improve their P.E skills.
