Stage 1 in Action

Stage 1 is  excited to bring you their contribution to our school’s fortnightly newsletter!

As we begin the eighth week of Term One we proudly share with you special moments and highlights from our classroom.

Recently, Stage 1 invited our school and parish communities to celebrate the first Family Mass for 2025. It was so wonderful to see so many families in attendance to share in this special Mass. We are very proud of the reverence shown by the students, particularly in the reading of the Prayers of Intercession and the Offering of Gifts. Special thanks to Mrs Mitchell and Miss Sampson and the choir for your contributions to the Family Mass.

In our writing lessons, we have been focusing on writing literary descriptions of characters and settings. Last week in our Big Write, Stage 1 students wrote a description of a setting from the children's book “Stick Man” by Julia Donaldson.

Following writing each week, the children (with the guidance of the teachers), analyse their Big Write to identify strengths and areas for improvement. Below are some photos of our session last week

Our Living World Science Unit culminated with the students applying the knowledge they acquired throughout the unit with the creation of a habitat for a living thing. Check out some of their amazing efforts!

We hope you have enjoyed an inside look at the hard work and creativity that makes the learning in Stage 1 such fun!
