Principals' Message
Dear Parents and Carers,
Wishing you and your families a happy St Patrick's Day! ☘️
Today we remember the legacy of St Patrick, who brought the light of Christ to Ireland and inspired generations with his faith, perseverance, and love for God. His example reminds us to trust in God’s guidance, just as he did when he prayed, “Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me, Christ in me.”
As we progress through Term 1, our school community continues to thrive with meaningful learning experiences, special events, and important milestones for our students and families. Thank you for your continued support - your partnership plays a vital role in the success of our students and the strength of our school community.
St Joseph's Day
On Wednesday, we celebrate the Feast of St Joseph who is the patron saint of our school. Back in 1866, St Joseph was chosen by Mary MacKillop to name her order of Josephite sisters, and today, the Sisters of St Joseph continue to make a difference by reaching out to those in need. We are very fortunate to have our very own Sister of St Joseph, Sr Kathryn Sweeney, in our Parish community. We wish her a very happy and blessed St Joseph's Day!
Saint Joseph was a just man, a tireless worker, the upright guardian of those entrusted to his care. May he always guard, protect and enlighten families. ~ Pope John Paul II
McCarthy Catholic College Visit
Many thanks to Mr Michael Whitton, Principal of McCarthy Catholic College, for visiting Year 6 to discuss transition to Year 7. Mr Whitton was accompanied by college captains Natasha Lees and Jack Benjamin. During the visit they provided valauble insights into the wide variety of opportunities available for students at McCarthy and shared helpful information about life in a secondary school.
St Joseph's Open Day
On Saturday we had a very successful Open Day. This was an excellent opportuntity for families to gain a better understanding of what St Joseph's has to offer and how we support the education of the children in our care.
A big thank you to Miss George, Mrs Ryan, Miss Sampson, Mrs Kellow, Miss Taggart, and Mrs Mitchell for guiding the families through our beautiful school. With such a great turnout, they were certainly kept busy! We would also like to extend a special thank you to Mrs Dewhurst and Mrs Vile for their hard work in preparing and organising items that helped create such a warm and welcoming atmosphere on the day.
Finally, thank you to all the families who took the time to join us on Saturday. We hope you enjoyed learning about our school from our dedicated staff and gained an understanding of what makes our community so special.

Every Day Counts
Education is important and regular attendance at school is essential for your child to achieve their educational best and increase their career and life options. When your child attends school every day, learning becomes easier as they are able to build on what was learned the day before. Just one day missed per fortnight equates to one whole year over a child's school life!
Arriving at school on time is also important. Classes start at 8:45am so students should arrive at least ten minutes prior to this to ensure they have time to put their bags away and greet their friends. Arriving after the bell disrupts the flow of the class, and important daily reminders and learning opportunities are missed.
Schools, in partnerships with families, are responsible for promoting the regular attendance of students and for ensuring that non-attendance is addressed effectively. Thank you for prioritising your children’s attendance at school and please do not hesitate to contact us if you require support in this area.
May God bless you and your family.
