Captains' Corner

Hello Parents, Staff and Students,
As one of our first responsibilities as School Captains, we were asked to choose a word that would represent the year ahead. This word is meant to capture what we hope 2026 will stand for, and the values we hope our Year 12 cohort will demonstrate throughout the year.
The word we chose is Elevate.
To elevate means to lift something higher or make it better. For us, it represents contributing positively — not just improving ourselves but helping those around us and strengthening our school community as a whole.
We chose the word Elevate for several reasons:
Growth and resilience – Year 12 is a year that challenges us both academically and personally. Elevate represents the growth, effort and maturity required to meet these challenges.
Supporting one another – Success in Year 12 is not only about individual achievement. We want to encourage our cohort to work together and elevate each other along the way.
Leading the school community – As the senior year level, Year 12 students play an important role in setting the tone for the school. Elevate reflects our aim to model the school’s culture of striving for our best while lifting up those around us.
While this word represents our hopes for the Year 12 cohort, we believe it is something the entire school community can embrace. Every student has the opportunity to elevate themselves, their peers and our school throughout the year.
We look forward to seeing how our school community continues to Elevate in 2026.

Valentine's Day
On the Monday following Valentine’s Day, our Year 12 leadership team organised a day of fun for the year level, an important tradition that has been upheld for many years. The common room was decorated with pink and red ribbons, love hearts, and Valentine’s‑themed artwork on the whiteboards, including a Snoopy design. Oren also coordinated a friendship‑themed Valentine’s Day quiz, which matched students with others who shared similar interests. This was a great way to encourage new connections during what is often our most challenging year.
Byron, the school mascot, made a special appearance to help deliver handwritten notes prepared by students in the weeks leading up to the event. These messages were a way to thank someone special within the year level, and many teachers also received notes from students expressing their appreciation.
Overall, it was a fantastic day. A special thank you to Koby for generously contributing her own money toward decorations, and to the entire leadership team for the effort they put into making sure everything ran smoothly.
