Our Senior students have now completed their first major assessments and SACs for the year, and are beginning to settle into the routines and expectations of VCE. Teachers are currently finalising the first round of GPA reports, which will provide families with an early snapshot of student progress and learning behaviours. These reports will be published next Thursday, and we encourage families to take the time to discuss them with students as part of establishing strong study habits for the year ahead.
The release of GPA reports also comes at an ideal time ahead of the Parent–Student–Teacher Conferences on Thursday 26 March. These meetings are particularly valuable at a VCE level, as they allow families, students, and teachers to work together to review early progress, clarify expectations for each subject, and identify targeted strategies to support student success. Attending the conferences helps ensure that students begin the year with a clear plan and strong support network, both of which are crucial in navigating the demands of VCE.
Year 12 students took an important step toward their final-year goals today by participating in the Success Integrated VCE Success Strategies Session.
As part of the school’s focus on supporting students through VCE and VCE‑VM, the session provided practical tools and strategies to help students improve their performance. The workshop covered effective study habits, SAC preparation, exam strategies, time management, and wellbeing. Students learned evidence‑based approaches to revision and how to build consistent study routines. The session also included guidance on maintaining a productive mindset during what can be a challenging year.
Today’s sessions coincided with a Year 12 Dress Up Day, where students dressed as something beginning with the first letter of their first name or surname. Students outdid themselves again with creative and colourful costumes. At lunchtime, students took part in a staff vs students ultimate Spoons competition, which added an enjoyable break to the day.

Eight senior students took part in a full‑day recreational fishing excursion on Saturday 28 February. The purpose of the excursion was to introduce students to a range of practical fishing techniques.
The group visitedthe Goulburn River system and several of its tributary streams, giving students the chance to explore different fishing conditions. The students were able to try a variety of methods, including bait fishing, spin fishing using different lure types, and, for those ready for a challenge, flyfishing.
In the lead‑up to the excursion, students participated in a skills session at school, where they practised casting, learned how to read the water, and developed the foundations needed for a successful day of fishing.
A big thank you to Darcy Wilmott and Brodie Smith who organised the excursion and generously gave up their Saturday to support these students.

The Student Representative Council (SRC) is now up and running for 2026, with students already making steady progress. This year, the SRC will focus on developing a formal constitution and finalising a unique school Acknowledgement of Country. These goals will guide their work and help strengthen student voice across the school.
In addition to these major projects, SRC members will also begin gathering feedback from students across all year levels to identify areas for improvement and opportunities to enhance school life. This includes exploring ways to improve student wellbeing, strengthen communication between students and staff, and support whole‑school events.
The group will meet regularly throughout the year, working collaboratively to ensure that student perspectives are represented in school decision‑making. With strong engagement already evident, 2026 is shaping up to be a productive and meaningful year for the SRC.
