YEAR 6

FROM THE TEAM

This week, our Grade 6 students have explored how authors use metaphors and vocabulary choices to analyse migration stories in Reading. In Writing, they began planning and writing their opening and build ups of their own narratives. In Maths, students strengthened their understanding of place value by adding, subtracting, and rounding decimals to the thousandths place, and they applied the correct order of operations to solve equivalent problems. During Inquiry, students examined the impact of migration on Australia and investigated how different policies shaped who could come here and why, deepening their understanding of Australia’s multicultural identity.

This week, our Year 6 captains proudly received their leadership badges at assembly. We are incredibly proud of the way they have already begun to show responsibility, confidence, and care for our school community. We look forward to seeing them grow as leaders throughout the year.
