FROM THE TEAM
We hope that you have all had a chance to meet with your child’s teacher at the Parent Teacher Interviews and share your insights with us. If you missed out, or would like to meet again to discuss anything further, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We will be sure to make a time for you that suits everyone. Please note that we have staff meetings on Tuesdays and Wednesdays after school, so are unavailable at these times.
LEARNING INTENTIONS FOR NEXT WEEK
LITERACY
- In Reading, we will continue to learn to identify key vocabulary in texts we read, discover the main idea of stories, and summarise the events in a text.
- In Writing, we are learning to innovate our own narrative texts based on Trixie Trickster.
MATHS
- We are learning to recognise and read o’clock and half past times on analogue clocks, and identify the days of the week, months of the year and understand a calendar.
INQUIRY
We are learning about our family tree and understanding our relationships with others in the family.
WELLBEING
- We are learning to understand and respond to others’ emotions by recognising how exclusion affects feelings and suggesting ways to help classmates play well together.
Something to work on...
Shoelaces
Many of our children have laces on their shoes this year. Please work with your children to help them be independent when tying their own laces!
Home Reading
The teachers are working hard to organise student take home readers and diaries. We encourage all students to bring in their reader bags each day, so a new book may be provided. We also encourage reading home books and library books. We also encourage the students to write their nights of reading in their diaries so we can celebrate their success!
Tissues
We would greatly appreciate it if students could please donate a box of tissues to their class.
Labelling
A reminder to please ensure that hats, jumpers, jackets, drink bottles and lunch boxes are all clearly named. Items that are named are far more likely to be returned to you.
