PREP

FROM THE TEAM
This week in Prep, students were introduced to Felix Frog and Ally Alligator during Little Learners Love Literacy sessions. They began building and manipulating sounds to create short words like Pam, Sam, and am. They have been exploring adjectives in Talk for Writing sessions and coming up with creative characters to innovate (change) the mentor text, Old Mac’s Farm. They have also been learning to sequence the days of the week through songs and chants.
REMINDERS
Family Fun Morning
A reminder that next Thursday 19th February we invite parents into the classroom to participate in Investigations with our Preps. The session will run from 8:35 am - 9:00 am.
Supporting Independence in Prep
Now that Prep students have settled into school, we are conitnuously encouraging them to build their independence. We kindly ask parents to help us with this! During morning drop off, wave goodbye from the grassed area and remain off the decking when dropping off and picking up students. We encourage our Preps to carry their own schoolbag into the classroom and unpack it themselves to learn routines and expectations. Thank you for your continued support in building independence with our Preps.
3:00 PM Pick Up Time
Starting next week, Monday 16th February, Prep pick up time will become consistent with the rest of the school. Students will be dismissed from their classroom at 3:00p.m.
