Principal's Message

Ms Reynolds

What a difference a year makes!

It is usual at this time of year to begin to reflect on growth, celebrate achievements and begin to plan goals for the future. When I think about how far our Kindy students have come this year - from entering school in February to engaging as successful and productive learners in November - there are big changes.

Change in students over a year can sometimes seem slow and sometimes seem fast! (My two are almost finished Year 8 and I can still remember taking them to Kindy transition - Emmett was scared to join the group and the principal had to sit with him and coax him to the floor!!)

And so - I encourage you to spend some time reflecting with your child - notice how much they have grown in different areas, remember back to February and how they started the year - what their hopes were, what they might have been worried about. Notice what they can do now, say now, make now, explain now!

Look at our Kindy students engaging with an artist in RAWArt - they have made spider creatures using a range of different materials and artforms!

Welcome to GEPS our new Kindies for 2025!

We have 35 Kindies enrolled for next year - and with 2 Kindy Transition sessions down, some of them are feeling very at home at GEPS!

I wonder how much they will have grown by this time next year?!

We welcome new families to GEPS and hope you get to know us and other parents as you begin this special time in your child's life.

And still on all things Kindy...

Congratulations to our lovely Mrs Melhem - who received her 20 years' service certificate this week - in recognition of her valuable contribution to the learning and lives of students across public schools.

Congratulations Mrs Melhem!

In other news...

We've had AFL clinics working with Yrs 3-6 students, robotics happening in Stage 3, students have been to camp, Stage 1 have been harvesting vegetables (that's the carrot photo on the front page of this newsletter!), Learning Conversations have been happening - mostly led by students, we celebrated World Teachers Day, had a free-clothes Friday (which was a proposal brought to me by 2 Stage 3 students) and have continued to offer quality learning in classrooms across the school!

They say term 4 is busy, as we squeeze in so much to finiliase the year!
