Cyber Safety/STEM
This term in STEM, some of our senior learners are diving into the world of circuits and electricity! Through hands-on experiments, they’re learning how electricity flows and testing their skills in building working circuits. It’s been thrilling to watch as they power light bulbs, make motors run, and even turn on small fans, gaining an understanding of how these everyday devices work.
By connecting batteries, wires, and components, students are exploring how energy moves through a circuit and discover what it takes to make complete (and incomplete) circuits. They’re also learning to troubleshoot by identifying problems, testing connections, and making adjustments—a fantastic way to develop critical thinking!
These experiments provide a great opportunity for the learners to discuss their learning. You might hear terms like "insulators," "circuit breakers," or "conductors" over dinner as they share their new knowledge with you.
Feel free to ask them about their experiences—explaining what they’ve learned can deepen their understanding.
Thank you for supporting our young scientists as they continue to explore the wonders of electricity!
