Physical Education

Over the past fortnight, students have been focusing on the following:

Prep – Practising working cooperatively with others while playing minor games

Grade 1/2 – Students have started learning how many of the games we see today have evolved from traditional games of the past. We have been playing some of these games and looking at the similarities and differences to games that we’re already familiar with.

Grade 3/4 – Target Games: Castle Ball, Bombardment and Frisbee Golf

Grade 5/6 – Continuing to move between Striking and Fielding and playing games created by the students, based on the weather

Interschool Sport

On Tuesday the 19th of November our Grade 5/6 students participated in our annual District Fun Sports day. It truly was a fun day! We had 12 teams participating across the following sports: Dodgeball, Downball, Handball and Ultimate Frisbee.

A big thank you to our wonderful staff and helpers, particularly Shaun Collins, Belinda Peccenini, Kristy Sier and Danuta Janczuk, who volunteered their time to make sure our teams could all participate.

The focus for the day was participation and fun. Students showed outstanding effort and sportsmanship throughout the day to produce lots of wonderful moments and the following results:

Handball girls – 1st

Handball mixed – 4th

Dodgeball mixed – 1st and 2nd (Rolling Hills Vs Rolling Hills grand final)

Downball mixed – 1st

Ultimate Frisbee mixed – 5th
