Ignite
The Year 10 Ignite Program celebrated a big year by planning an excursion to Nagambie. They put their project based learning skills into action to plan a day of activities, including travel and meals. The funds raised from their Hot Chocolate business in Term 2 covered some of the costs and their skills in the kitchen from Term 3 came in handy when preparing egg and bacon rolls on the local BBQs. There was even time for a bit of fishing.
By far the highlight was the Kayaking session. The group developed their paddling skills, played kayak-footie and raced. With the hot weather, it was no surprise that half the time was spent cooling off in the lagoon rather than in their boats.
To cool off on the way home we stopped in at The Neighbourhood to see some of the students’ 3D Printed designs in action and thank Jayden and the Gnarly team for their support of our projects during the year.
I’d like to congratulate the Ignite students on completing the program and wish them luck for the next step on their education journey.
Some parting comments from the group:

“I have learned about the environmental factors needed to keep a fish alive”
“I will always remember all the fun we had together in class”
“I am proud of how far everyone has come”
