Highlights
Selamat sore 3/4 families!
With our Christmas concert just around the corner, the 3/4 students are excited to share some information about the work they have been doing in Guided Inquiry for our Community Collection Drives.
Toy Drive: We would like to invite you to please donate any unused toys that are in excellent condition to our Toy Drive at the Christmas Concert.
We are wanting to support other families so they can give toys to their kids during the Christmas time. We are still working on finding the exact community group who will take these toys but we have already connected with Community Houses in Mitcham and Vermont South and local toy libraries. We hope your kindness in donating spreads across our community! So if you have some unused toys then PLEASE DONATE at our Christmas Concert!
Aged Care: On the 4th of December we have the Christmas concert. During that time 3/4 students have organised a market for the community. Students and parents are encouraged to bring donations like toys, books, tinned food and lemons. We are making Christmas cards to bring smiles on people’s faces by giving them to local aged care residents.
Animals: Our Guided Inquiry Project is focused on helping and giving back to our community. The Animal group asks you if you’re able to donate any old towels or blankets. All donations are given to the Forest Hill Veterinary Hospital to help keep their patients warm. We also accept newspapers for them to use to absorb liquid.
We will take the donations at our Christmas Concert on the 4th of December. You can choose to take a Christmas card, origami or a paper fidget. Thank you!
Sporting Clubs: To give back to our community we have created posters, brochures and ads for the local sporting clubs and communities we are a part of. Stop by to find out more about the amazing clubs that are in our neighbourhood.
Lemonade: We have been reading a class novel called Lemonade War and in Maths made our own lemonade. For our guided inquiry topic about giving back to the community we will be giving out lemons for free with lemonade recipes at the Christmas concert on the 4th of December. Please come to our stand for a free lemon.
Food Drive: Food is Free, Nunawading
Students in Years 3 and 4, including Jordan, Evan, Anoshka, Harper, Alicia, and Harriet, will be organising a food drive during the initial segment of our MPRPS Christmas concert. We kindly request donations of non-perishable food items, such as canned goods, cereals, and bottled water. We encourage contributions from your garden or pantry, as we prefer that you do not purchase new items. Please ensure that all donated items are unexpired, as we will be passing them on to Food is Free Nunawading. Thank you for your generous support.
Lions Club: This year at our Christmas concert the 3/4 are putting up stands with a simple GIVE and GET trade system. In return for some old clothes (washed) in return for origami and other fun Christmas gifts made by our students. Time to spread the cheer! About the lions club: The lions club helps everyone in need.
Every time you donate some clothes, you’ll certainly feel good about making a difference. A small change can make a big difference.
Have a great week!
