Principals Message

This week, all year groups have begun the 2025 academic year. We welcome back Year 12 2025 as they join with Year 11 2025 to begin the Preliminary HSC.

Last week saw the Year 12 2024 Formal at the Golf Club. There were 27 graduates and we wish this group of amazing young adults all the best in the future. Some students have already received early offers for university placement, have been offered work and have applied to go to TAFE. No matter which path they take, we know they will all go on to do great things.

Thank you to Donna Bell and Sally Gillespie for all their behind the scenes efforts to make the night so special. Thank you to Elizabeth Mclay for her efforts as the Year 12 2024 Year Advisor. Thank-you to the Narrandera High School P&C for their generous donation to The Formal which makes the night more affordable for all attendees.

Over the past couple of weeks, many of the senior students completed courses such as the Responsible Service of Alcohol and Gambling, First Aid and being a barista as part of a Narrandera Shire Council initiative. These courses will give the students employability skills for part time work while studying or to gain full time work. Thank you to the Narrandera Shire Council for their support with these highly valued courses.

Friday night saw the Narrandera High School Clontarf Academy have their awards night. Well done to John Ingram and Gary Ingram for their organisation of the night and to the two MCs Braden Lyons and Matari Johnson for their professional and mature approach to ensuring the awards ran smoothly. The Clontarf Academy Student of the Year was awarded to Year 12 student Xavier Beauchamp. Congratulations to Xavier on his completion of Year 12 and on his resilience to overcome many obsticles to get to this point. Congratulations to all the award winners on the night.

This week we farewelled two members of staff who will be greatly missed.

  • Ms Lauren Taylor from the English Faculty has gone on maternity leave as she prepares for the new addition to her family. We wish Ms Taylor and her family all the best in this happy time for her family.
  • Ms Rochelle Trembath from the Mathematics Faculty has been appointed as Head Teacher Mathematics at Leeton High School. We are thankful to Ms Trembath for her efforts at Narrandera High School.

This term sees two assemblies to recognise the achievements of the students at Narrandera High School. The Term 4 Formal Assembly will take place on Thursday December 5 from 10am. This assembly will recognise Term 4 acheivement, some PBL awards and students who achieve a second or third ranking in a course for 2024. Presentation Night will take place on Tuesday December 10 from 6pm. This night will recognise student achievement across the year, the presentation of perpetual major awards, first place ranking in a course and the top academic achievers in the year. The top sports, leadership, and community service awards will be presented.
