Dr Penny Ludicke

Dear Marian Catholic College Community,

A Memorable Evening of Celebration and Gratitude

We ended Week 5 with the Year 12 Mass of Thanksgiving in the Church of the Sacred Heart and the formal graduation dinner at the Yoogali Club.

On the evening of the Graduation Dinner, we had the privilege of hosting some very special guests, and we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to them. We were joined by Sacred Heart Parish Priest Father Henry Ibe, Assistant Priest and College Chaplain Father Connell, Mrs. Segrave, Mr. Alexander, and members of the College Leadership Team.

During the evening we expressed our sincere gratitude to Father Henry and Father Connell, as well as the Parish, for their preparation of the beautiful Mass earlier that afternoon. It was a time for our community to come together in faith, celebrating the Eucharist, before proceeding to the evening’s festivities.

Our school, parish, and the Griffith community take great pride in being a place of warmth, hospitality, and welcome—a place where faith, care, and gratitude for what we have are at the heart of everything we do. As we gathered, the face of a loving, caring, and accepting God was truly visible, and it was evident in the spirit of the night.

The evening also marked a very special occasion for our graduates, whose accomplishments we celebrated with joy. Our proud parents and carers, along with our resplendent Year 12 graduates, looked absolutely marvellous. This was their moment—one we hope that they will always remember and cherish. We wished them all the very best for an unforgettable evening and also wished them love, health and happiness in the next stage of their lives.

Of course, such an event would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of so many individuals behind the scenes. While formal thanks were made later in the evening, we would like to take this opportunity to express our appreciation to all who contributed to making this night so special.

A big thank you goes to the Parish and our Parish Priests, College Officer Managers Mrs. O’Keeffe and Mrs. Van Jaalsveld, our outgoing and our incoming College Captains and Vice Captains, Mrs. Lora Segrave, Mr. Alexander, Mrs Di Lorenzo, Mr. Abdala, Anna and the Yoogali Club, Ginette Guidolin and Formality Photography and Blossoms Florists.

Thank you to our readers at the Mass and our musicians and singers and also to those parents who met with us earlier in the year to share their hopes and ideas for how the graduation might unfold. The dedication, love, care, and service demonstrated by all of these generous and caring people, played an integral role in making the evening a memorable and joyous occasion.

On behalf of Marian Catholic College, we offer our heartfelt congratulations to the Class of 2024. This evening marked a significant milestone in your lives, and we wish you all a bright future filled with success and happiness.

May our Mother Mary continue to bless and support you as you embark on the next chapter of your lives and the spirit of St Marcellin Champagnat and Catherine McAuley guide you on your way.
