Acts of Love In Action @ Grade 3/4 Camp
“It is not enough to say we are Christians. We must live the faith, not only with our words, but with our actions.” - Pope Francis
This week, the 3/4 students attended Allambee Camp. For many of our students, this was their first experience of camp, being away from their families and stepping out of their comfort zone. This enabled our students to not only grow in independence, confidence and resilience, but to form closer relationships with their peers and teachers.
This wonderful experience could not happen without many individual and collective contributions of our staff and students. The words of Pope Francis come to mind as we were lucky enough to witness many ‘Christian acts’ from our students and staff while on camp.
We saw students offering support and words of encouragement to a peer trying something new, working together as a team, helping each other to collect and pack bags and offering comfort to those who needed it. It was also an opportunity for peers to build on their friendships or get to know someone a bit better with time being spent together over meals and shared activities.
We also want to thank the dedicated staff who took time away from their own families and worked tirelessly to give these opportunities and wonderful experiences for our 3/4 students.
As we reflect on camp, we do not have to look far to see the Gospel taking place in the quiet, kind and caring actions given by so many of our 3/4 Team. It is wonderful to see ‘Love in Action’ in full force at St Laurence Primary School.
